If you find your skin is often chapped, scaly and uncomfortably tight, you may have very dry skin.
Most commonly caused by damage to the skin’s natural barrier, those with this skin type have difficulty regulating normal skin moisture levels.
The hydration levels in our skin are regulated by its outermost layer. Luckily, this layer of skin is flexible, absorbent, adaptable and capable of regeneration. Those with very dry skin tend to be older or have a history of eczema.
Skin Tips
To help restore your skin barrier and natural glow, gently cleanse using mild cleansers and moisturize regularly.
Your environment may also play a factor, so try using a humidifier and avoiding long hot baths and showers. Dry and/or cold conditions can exacerbate very dry skin.
